The Birthday Boy’s Vanity Fair – 5 tips For Glowing Skin And Youtful Look
I have a confession to make: I’ll be turning 34 next week, and I must admit, as much as I enjoy being in my “Carrie Bradshaw” years, there are a lot of things that I could worry about as I age. One of those things are those nasty little wrinkles around my eyes…
The good news, if you are among those who stress over their looks, is that there are a lot of things that you can do to make your skin look a lot better, instead of allowing it to look worse. And while I’m not againts “lunchtime surgeries” at all (I recently got a shot of botox, Samatha Jones style), there are quite a few cheaper and easier ways to stay young (looking) forever. Or at least for a few more years…
1. Moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize
Moist skin is happy skin. That’s why you have to place a lot of emphasis on moisture.
That means not just choosing a good moisturizing lotion and using it daily, but also drinking plenty of water. Remember that a hydrated body is a healthy body.
2. Get your beauty sleep
Your skin might not repair itself as well as you get older. It can take longer for your healthy new cells to replace the dead ones near the surface. However, you can do at least two simple things to help the process along. First, get plenty of sleep. Your skin repairs itself best when you are in a sleeping or resting state. So, insomnia can lead to skin problems, as well as other health issues.
The second thing you can do to help your skin repair itself is to keep your pores from getting clogged, especially at night. That means moisturizing and cleansing your skin right before bed, which will remove any makeup or debris. You can also use a night cream that promotes overnight healing.
3. Exfoliate your skin a couple times a week
Exfoliating simply means scrubbing off dead skin cells. You can do that with a washcloth. But don’t over exfoliate.
Twice a week should be enough to allow healthy skin to shine through without damaging your skin more.
4. Use a great eye cream daily
Eye cream is essential to combat signs of aging that appear around our eyes. It can really help to keep crow’s feet from showing up seemingly overnight.
The best eye creams can prevent everything from dark under eye circles to laugh lines and wrinkles.
5. Don’t say no to clinical ways to keep your skin healthy
Even if you create a seemingly perfect daily skincare routine, you are likely to notice a few unwanted changes in your skin. The best way to fight back against those changes might be to go to a clinic and have a skin procedure that can fix whatever problem is upsetting you.
Of course, there are a lot of different skin procedures you could have. Treatments like Microdermabrasion and chemical peels are certainly popular options to think about. They can both revitalize your outer layer of skin. Other options include IPL, YAG laser treatments, and sound wave treatments.
The b-day boy’s conclusion is that the key to keeping your skin looking healthy is not only to have a regular skincare routine, but also to be proactive about your skin. Always talk to your dermatologist the second any concern comes up. They can help you to treat anything that pops up, whether it’s wrinkles, acne, dry skin, or some other issue.
