Tel Aviv Gay Pride 2014 is just around the corner, and as every important party requires some preparations, I’m sharing with you some of the “must-dos” before the annual bash of love and joy. Follow these 4 steps and I guarantee you’ll be the first one to know about the best parties, events, shows and fairs, arranged for the Pride week. 

#1. Get yourself a Moovz profile

#2. Check out the movie screenings of the TLVFest


TLVFest, Tel Aviv’s International LGBT Film Festival is a unique annual event taking place each June at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque and the Tel Aviv LGBT Community Center. The festival offers public screenings of films with no Israeli distribution, meetings with local as well as foreign filmmakers, panel discussions and special events. The impressive program includes many exciting films while aspiring to enrich and empower tolerance and pluralism in Israeli society. “We believe that Israel should be based on freedom and justice and should ensure complete equality of social and political rights, to all its inhabitants, irrespective of religion, race, sex or sexual orientation. TLVFest opposes all occupations and forms of violence and believes that peace should be fulfilled through justice for Palestine and Israel. We hope that one day the Middle East will be a safe place for LGBT people and we wish that the countries and their leaders will be more tolerant to our community.” -says TLVFest founder, Yair Hochner.

#3. Exchange your wardrobe at Gan Art


Be a part of a unique cultiral festival everz Friday, and experience the meeting of art, design, fashion and music. A variety of artists from various fields, will gather around the outdoor garden of the Gan Ha’ir complex. “Young and promising fashion designers, innovative product designers, quality music performances, delicious culinary and temporary exhibitions held at a dedicated gallery, for young Israeli breakthrough art.” – says Marina Pozner, fashion designer and event promoter. And the best part is yet to come: it’s free entry, and the beer , wine and arak are only 10 shekels! Some of the designers and stores participating: Salon Berlin, Vanilla Sky, Lea Marmor, LIYA, SUDRA, Ely Goren,  ZAZA JEWERLY Mika Ron, DiveDa Studio, NowoStudio, and more. #4. Get ready to the first ever GLBT expo in Tel Aviv


Expo TLV is an initiative of four local LGBT activists – Anat Nir, Nir Levlovich, Guy Tatsa and Imri Kalman, and they completed their team with Lilach Evrany. These guys created an exhibition of LGBT culture, lifestyle and social agenda, taking place in Dizengof center, a main shopping center in the heart of Tel Aviv and will consist of over 2500 square meters of exhibitions and experience, covering a wide spectrum of LGBT culture: Family life; fashion, tourism, health and well-being, education, politics and economics. The expo will take place Sunday – Thursday, June 8-12. Some of the main attractions will be: award ceremony to Israeli activists; GLBT film festival; live performances; gay talk (in TED style) featuring many international visitors; fashion shows and much more.
