Open The Doors To Israeli Fashion, Part 3. – Neta Efrati

When I presented on the blog Neta Efrati‘s work a year ago, we had a chance to sneak in to a photo shooting of her catalog, and now the hang(wo)man is being hang: this time she was the one posing in front of a camera in the blog’s very own production, photographed by Israeli-Hungarian visual artist, Doron Ritter.

It seems like you guys love the concept of Israeli fashion designers wearing their own garments – and I have a feeling you’ll be crazy for the new post. Neta was the first one to arrive on that special morning we took over Jaffa’s streets, and after Yoni Shain – one of Israel’s most talented make up artists – did his magic, we all went out to fall in love with Neta’s natural, sunkissed look.

What changed since we’ve met Neta last time? “I became more mature, and more precise, I know my costumers very well and learnt to deliver sexy and glamorous garments effortless – which are so comfortable, even moms with kids can wear them.” – she says.

Neta’s new collection features evening and daily wear as well. “It’s very comfortable for me because I sort of design for myself first. I don’t sell anything I would not put on. The collection starts with me asking: what would I wear?” See it for yourself at Neta’s studio is at 4, Rabbi Acha street, at the ever colorful flea market of Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Israel, or check out her Etsy store for more inspiration.

Why open the doors to Israeli fashion?

“Israeli women want to look fashionable but not to look overdressed. A girl from Israel needs the little details to make her feel special, but she’d never wear something what’s limiting her in being her natural self. For me the local fashion is easygoing and glamorous in the same time, and of course the materials fit the steamy, hot summer weather, and the mild winter.” Neta Efrati

Photographed by Doron Ritter,  make up and hair by Yoni Shain. Photo assistant: Sára Salamon, general assistant: Julia Zimre. Very special thanks to Orly Leo Bohrer.
